Instructions

Installation

Uninstall any previously installed version of BioLego before proceeding to install the new version.

Windows

  1. Run BioLego_1_2.exe
  2. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard. 
  3. By default, BioLego 1.2 is installed in a new directory named 'Strand' in c:\Program Files. On completion of the installation, a browser window opens describing the installation and activation process. BioLego 1.2 documentation can also be accessed from here.
  4. Double-click on the BioLego icon on the desktop to initiate the activation process.
  5. Paste the order-id provided, in the license activation dialog to launch the tool.

Linux

  1. Run BioLego_1_2.bin (You need to have the 'Execute' permissions for the bin file).
  2. Follow the instructions on the installation wizard. 
  3. By default, BioLego_1.2 is downloaded in a new directory named 'Strand' in the home directory. On completion of the installation, a browser window opens describing the installation and activation process. BioLego 1.2 documentation can also be accessed from here.
  4. Go to Strand/BioLego/ and run the command ./BioLego_1.2
  5. Paste the order-id provided, in the license activation dialog to activate the tool.

Manual Activation

If Auto Activation fails, follow the following steps for manual activation.

  1. Send the activation file 'manualActivation.txt' from the BioLego 1.2 installation path/bin/license folder (typically in Windows, it will be in c:\Program Files\Strand\BioLego\bin\license\) as an attachment to biolego@strandls.com, with the subject ‘Registration Request’.
  2. We will generate the license activation file (strand.lic) and send it to you within one business day.
  3. Once you have received the license activation file, copy the file to the BioLego 1.2 installation path/bin/license folder (typically in Windows, it will be in c:\Program Files\Strand\BioLego\bin\license\).
  4. Run BioLego 1.2 to activate your installation
  5. If BioLego 1.2 fails to launch and produces an error, please send the error code to biolego@strandls.com with the subject ‘Activation Failure’.You should receive a response within one business day.
